When you build your own Grafana panel, you query the historicValues table for a
signal_name. If the name does not match, the panel stays empty — with no error. This
page lists the names as they actually appear in the database on a GMN edge.
Measured values
These ten signals hold a number:
| Signal name | Quantity |
|---|---|
VibVeloXDirection | Effective vibration velocity, X axis |
VibVeloYDirection | Effective vibration velocity, Y axis |
VibVeloZDirection | Effective vibration velocity, Z axis |
TempBearing1 … TempBearing4 | Bearing temperatures 1 to 4 |
TempCoolantInlet | Coolant inlet temperature |
RotSpeed | Rotational speed |
operatingHours | Operating time as a raw counter, not in hours |
Two names cause most of the trouble:
- Rotational speed is
RotSpeed, notSpeed. A query forSpeedreturns nothing and looks exactly like a machine without a speed signal. operatingHourscounts in steps of roughly a tenth of a second. The DataStore tile converts it to hours using the device constant from the IODD; in your own query you have to do that yourself.
Status signals
Most measured values have a companion signal with a Status suffix (RotSpeedStatus,
TempBearing1Status, …), plus DeviceStatus, ClampingStatus, DisplacementStatus,
DisplacementTempStatus, DrawbarPositionStatus, HydraulicPiston and ReleaseStroke.
These hold an object, not a number. That is why every query of your own needs the line
AND jsonb_typeof(hv.value) = 'number'
Without it the query aborts as soon as one such value falls into the selection —
invalid input syntax for type double precision.
Histogram classes
The remaining 51 signals (wearEdge…, wearTime…) are the classes of the dwell-time
histograms, numbered per axis. The histogram tiles evaluate them; they are not meant for
time-series panels of your own.
Matching the machine
Every signal hangs off the imported IDEA-4S machine, whose id is not fixed — it changes when the machine is created again. Query it rather than writing a number:
WHERE hv.machine_id = (SELECT id FROM "machines"
WHERE import_type = 'idea4s' ORDER BY id LIMIT 1)
ORDER BY id LIMIT 1 is not decoration: with more than one IDEA-4S machine in the
DataStore — after a re-import, say — the query fails without it.
